Poppy Day Appeal is the RBL losing out

I was reading the history behind the Poppy Day Appeal and started to wonder if the Royal British Legion is now losing out to the new charities that have started in the last few years. With Help for Heroes that was launched on 1st Oct 2007 and Afghan Heroes launched in Sept 2009 are the donations being spread too thinly now.
